What Is Psychiatric Evaluation?

A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive assessment conducted by a licensed psychiatric provider. It includes a conversation about your mental health history, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals. This helps us understand your experience and determine if medication could be a helpful part of your treatment. You are never just a diagnosis. We take time to see the full picture and work with you to make informed, compassionate decisions.

What Is Medication Management? 

If medication is recommended, our team will provide ongoing support to ensure it’s effective and well-tolerated. Our providers check in regularly to ensure that medication is working for you—not the other way around. Medication management includes:

  • Choosing the right medication based on your needs
  • Monitoring your response and adjusting dosage as needed
  • Managing side effects
  • Coordinating care with your therapist or primary care provider

Psychiatric services are available to clients ages 7 and up. Whether you’re new to mental health care or have previous experience with medication, we meet you where you are. Our providers offer culturally informed care, and we’re proud to serve Creole-speaking clients and communities across Florida.

Your first visit will be a full evaluation lasting 60–90 minutes, either in person or via telehealth. Follow-up appointments are typically shorter and focus on how you’re responding to your medication. We value open communication, and you’ll always have a say in your treatment plan.
Our psychiatric services are grounded in empathy, expertise, and whole-person care. We see medication as one potential tool among many—and only use it when it aligns with your values and goals. With us, you’re not a chart or checklist. You’re a person, and your healing matters.
