Group Therapy for Connection and Support

You don’t have to face your struggles alone. At Anchor of Hope Wellness Center, our group therapy sessions offer a space for shared healing, understanding, and growth. In a supportive environment led by experienced therapists, you’ll connect with others who truly understand what you’re going through.

What Is Group Therapy?

Group therapy is a form of counseling where individuals with similar concerns come together under the guidance of a trained therapist. Sessions provide a safe, structured space to share experiences, explore emotions, and learn from others. It’s not just about talking—it’s about listening, relating, and discovering new perspectives.

How Group Therapy Can Help

Group therapy can be a powerful way to gain insight and build skills, especially when paired with individual therapy. Participants often find that group therapy helps normalize their experiences, making healing feel more achievable. Benefits include:

  • Reducing feelings of isolation
  • Developing healthy communication and relationship skills
  • Learning coping strategies for anxiety, depression, trauma, or substance use
  • Receiving feedback and encouragement from others who “get it”
  • Building confidence through shared understanding

Frequently Asked Questions?

Group therapy is for anyone seeking support in a community setting. We offer groups for teens, adults, and parents, and are mindful of cultural dynamics and language needs. Our team includes Creole-speaking therapists, and we’re working to expand multilingual options as we grow.

Groups are typically made up of 6–10 participants and are led by licensed mental health professionals. Sessions are focused, respectful, and confidential. Some groups are open (drop-in friendly), while others are closed (running for a set number of weeks). Topics may include emotional regulation, trauma recovery, parenting, grief, or managing mood disorders. Before joining a group, you’ll complete a brief consultation to ensure the group is a good fit for your needs.
At Anchor of Hope, our groups are more than just talk—they’re safe spaces for transformation. We foster a culture of respect, empathy, and empowerment. Our therapists are experienced in facilitating diverse, culturally sensitive groups, ensuring that everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Whether you’re working through trauma, seeking emotional tools, or simply looking for community, group therapy at Anchor of Hope offers a foundation for healing together.
